baroness elise raymonde deroche

With an addiction for the skies, this remarkable aviation pioneer made the (natural!!) progression from ballooning to become the first woman to hold a pilot's license in 1910. Sensational stuff.

Thank you! What an amazing era it must have been. I'm not sure if I'm that fearless, but I would've loved to be have been one of them! I bought a great book a while ago that profiles these very spunky gals http://www.amazon.com/Women-Aviators-Amelia-Earhart-History/dp/208030108X/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1287803008&sr=1-1
